Surfacing Stories exhibition in the V&A and RIBA Architecture Gallery
I was one of twelve activists, architects, historians and writers invited to contribute to Surfacing Stories, an exhibition in the V&A and RIBA Architecture Gallery. In this intervention they offer fresh interpretations of objects on display, surfacing stories about provenance, eurocentrism, women, disability, LGBTQ+, colonialism and climate change.
Music Leeds Us: Celebrating 60 Years of Music in Leeds at Leeds City Museum
I provided exhibition copy for Music Leeds Us, an exhibit marking 60 years of Leeds Conservatoire that celebrates the people, places and magic moments that have shaped the Leeds’s musical identity across six vibrant decades.
The exhibition copy was taken from two editorial projects I produced in partnership with Leeds Conservatoire.
Copywriting, content and branded editorial
In the past, I have produced copy and branded content for brands such as Google, Amazon, Klarna, Mars, Absolut Vodka, Gymshark, Hinge, Mars, and Sky Television.
I have collaborated with Apple Music, Live Nation, O2, Warner Bros., and MyGWork on editorial content.
I have worked with record labels such as Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and Universal Music Group on press materials and biographies for artists such as Ellie Goulding, Leigh-Anne, Henry Moodie, Luke Hemmings, Priya Ragu, Rina Sawayama, Mykki Blanco, Tsatsamis, MØ, and more.
Leeds Conservatoire 60th Anniversary
To celebrate 60 years of Leeds Conservatoire, I produced editorial projects for the institution.
This involved archival research and collaboration with internal stakeholders about direction, narrative and format.
The final result was two editorial pieces: a 500 word and 5,000 word history, which was printed as a pamphlet designed by Split.
Public speaking and event hosting
I have given talks about LGBTQ+ history and culture for organisations such as LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, NHS England, Islington Council, the National Theatre, Business Insider, Twitter and Kantar.
I have hosted events and chaired panels for Aye Write Literary Festival, Waterstones, Daunt Books, Juno Books, Sheffield Museums and Sheffield Independent Book Festival.
Teaching, workshops and masterclasses
I currently teach music journalism at Leeds Conservatoire.
I have also produced workshops and masterclasses including one for young people as part of Nottingham City of Literature’s Big City Reads.
